Christmas Party
Saturday
December 9th
Wow what an ending to a perfect year! We
held our annual christmas party at the historic
Landmark Inn Skyroom in Marquette. There
was an excellent turnout of old and new members.
We started out with a cocktail hour and then
progressed to dinner. After dinner we
opened our envelopes and everyone received a
free lottery ticket. There were some
winners and some losers. I didn't here
anyone scream out that they won enough to buy a
new corvette but I guess we can't win all of the
time. Then we progressed to the election
of new officers. I will post them as soon
as I receive the new list. finally it was
game time. It was hilarious and everyone
had a wonderful time. If you don't believe
me check out the smiling faces at the pictures
link below. Thank you Frei Chevrolet for
the raffle prizes, Landmark Inn for an excellent
party, and all of the members involved in
setting up this years party.

Road Rally
Saturday
October 14th
Nine teams left the
Marquette Medical Center parking lot precisely
at 3:00pm to take part in this year’s road
rally. The “Queens of Scavenge” rally committee
did a superb job of planning the event as all
teams were successful in completing the course
without getting lost, missing a clue or not
being able to find the location of the party.
Yvonne Andersen, Linda Dionne and Nancy
Henderson who later became known as “The
Cowgirls of the Clueless” promised this year was
going to be a “remedial rally” and their many
hours of planning provided a fun day for
everyone. Club President Bill Henry and wife
Ragene came prepared to unseat last year’s Rally
King and Queen Steve and Carol Luoma and
finished with a sizeable lead over the rest of
the teams. King Bill and Queen Ragene were
humble in accepting their crowns however the
King was overheard saying “Rally King Henry the
First and my beloved Queen Ragene will try to be
slightly more benevolent towards the commoners
than the tyrant in exile. But, we all have to
be careful, because you never know when they
might return with a vengeance toward the
peasants (and current King)”. Last year’s King
and Queen arrived at the start only to be booed
by the rest of the teams. Upon learning of
their near last place finish this year, the now
ex-King and Queen were heard to say “Even though
his Majesty and his beloved Queen were
temporarily overthrown, to the absolute glee of
their subjects we might add, a great time was
had by all. So before we begin to plot our
return to unseat that dastardly usurper, William
the inferior, we thank everyone for a great
year. Jim and Sue Johnson finished second while
Ann Beauchaine and Gary Dionne finished third.
Jean and Larry Lawless took home the Red Lantern
trophy as well as the People’s Choice Award for
being caught on film as the most talented. So
after ten rally stops, three puzzles, plenty of
laughs and friendly competition and great food
at the Landmark, it was truly a successful
event. We hope you will plan not to miss next
year. It was a terrific day! Submitted
affectionately by your “Puzzle Divas” Yvonne,
Linda and Nancy

Impropto
Color Tour to Copper Harbor MI.
Sunday October 1st
Thanks to a great weather
forecast and some fast planning, 10 LSCC
Corvettes enjoyed a fantastic day cruising
to Copper Harbor. The color season was at
its' peak and the group made frequent stops,
including the Gay bar, Keweenaw Mountain
Lodge, Copper Harbor, and Brockway
Mountain. An added attraction included
meeting a group of Tech students driving 10
GM test vehicles that included new Cadillac
XLR, Corvette Z06, and Saturn Sky, as part
of GMs' Ride and Drive program to attract
engineers.

Fall
Color Tour to the Soo
Sunday
September 24th and Monday Sepember 25th
Unfortunately, the fall
trip to the Soo was cancelled. The number
of people scheduled to make the trip
dwindled due to a series of emergencies and
the weather forecast did not sound good for
the planned events. We had a great agenda
lined up, and perhaps can look at trying
again next fall.
LSCC
carshow at seafood fest
Saturday August 26th
Wow, the
8th annual LSCC Classic Car Show is
over & listed as another success!! Thanks to
23 volunteers!! I think that's a record. And
no matter how much or how little time they
were able to contribute, it made a
difference.
We had a new parking scheme that was well
received. Joe's Z06 was
painstakingly trailered in for everyone to
enjoy.We had last minute goodies
contributed. We had people that stepped up
to be photographers. We even had 'custom
tunes' provided by Andy 'the DJ' Grundstrom
and we kept Noah Seiple's 'sea-legs'
landlocked all day. Thanks all guys and
gals!!
The weather was cloudy, but not sweltering
and no downpour proved to be perfect.
If you missed it, you missed a great crowd
and a fun day. And we raised a nice amount
of $$$ to carry on LSCC as
well as make a significant donation to the
Humane Society.
Our prize winning volunteer packages went
to:
Jim Maki
Jack Mauro
Yvonne Andersen
Thanks again to all and hope to see even
more of you enjoying the show next year!!
We still have some fun LSCC events planned.
So see you on the road...

Buzz the
gut
Saturday
August 12th
The weather was beautiful for the Buzz The Gut
gathering. We all staged at the mining
museum in Ishpeming and had some great
conversations with all of the people who brought
their cars out for this great event. We
had the pleasure of meeting two of our new
members Bruce and Dwayne. Welcome to the
club guys. We had a great ride and the
people on the sidewalks and in their yards loved
the parade They waved and had great comments to
shout out. From what I could here most of
them wanted us to light up our tires. The
police did a wonderful job of traffic control.
The older people at the apartment complex loved
the cars and their faces were all smiles as we
drove by. I was unable to attend the party
at the Elks club so if any of you have any
comments to add to this please e-mail me and I
will get it posted.

Give the
Kids a Lift Baycliff Health Camp
Sunday July 9th
Once again, I am asking that as
many of us as possible help out on this VERY
rewarding charitable event. Everyone wins
on this outing...most important...the
KIDS!!!! Last year we were all smiling
even though it was hot, hot, hot. But the
kids didn't care....they just kept riding and
grinning.
So please, let me know whether or not you can
participate in this event. I need at least
10 cars....and I promise that lunch will be
handled better than last year.

Progressive Dinner
Saturday June 17th
Again we
started out in the rain and had showers off and
on throughout the day. We started at 3pm
when we left Marquette and headed for Big Bay
and Art and Pam's Beautiful home for Hors
D'Oeuveres. The view from the deck was
great and the food was delicious. Thanks
Art, Pam, and Ann for a great start.
Next we all
headed back to Midway drive to Jim and Sue's for
the main course. The salad, lasagna, and
garlic bread was delicious. The
conversations got better and better as the day
wore on. Again we had a beautiful view
from the deck and the rain held off so we could
enjoy our great meal. Thanks Jim, Sue,
Dennis, and Nancy for our main course.
Off we go down
M35 for a thrilling ride through the many curves
and straight aways on our way to Steve and
Carol's for desert. When we arrived and
everyone was parked the conversation was about
the great ride and the great time everyone was
having. Captain Steve launched the cruise
ship and it was an exciting ride around the
lake. I didn't know they put corvette
engines in boats? Steve definitely has a
need for speed. Back at Steve and Carol's
dock I tried to get out of the boat but didn't
have my sea legs yet and I had to be caught
before hitting the deck (Literally). Thank
you my rescuers. The bar was open and
everyone was having a great time. Desert
was beyond words. Apple, Cherry, and
Blueberry cobbler with ice cream. Seconds
and thirds were the norm for my favorite part of
the trip. Next everyone opened the
envelopes that they had been collecting all day
and the best three poker hands won prizes,
A special
thanks are in order to Jim and Yvonne, and Gary
and Linda for the tasty wine they provided.
I had never heard of Fat Bastard wine before but
it was delicious.
To all
of you club members who didn't make it all I can
say is that you missed a wonderful time, Please
check out the pictures under the photo - 2006-
Progressive dinner page. Because you
weren't there I had to eat your desert.
Thank you.

SPRING
FLING ROAD TRIP
Saturday May 20th
It
was raining at the beginning of our trip but as
the trip progressed the weather dried up.
Twenty members attended the spring fling.
A special thanks to Carol and Jim Ries of Iron
Mountain for doing such a great job of setting
up the dinner for us at the Blind Duck
restaurant. We saw alot of police cars, but I later found
out it was graduation night so that might have
had something to do with it. Luckily we
all made it there and back without any tickets.
The food was excellent once it was served.
A few of our members had to wait a little longer
to enjoy their meal than others (Right Dennis?).
Bill treated us to an updated version of his
power point presentation. Jim Johnson won
a special door prize which we are certain we
will see again. Over all it was a very enjoyable evening with
good drinks, good conversation, and good food.
Email your photos to the
